Vampire Counts Skeletons

Finished my first batch of Skeletons. Will write up a bit of a step by step. I sprayed them white, then washed the bone bits with graveyard earth. Dry brushed gleaming skull (bleached bone in the old money) and again with a 50/50 white/bone mix just a little on their faces and things.

The metal I base coated tin bitz then a light dry brush of iron breaker followed by a wash of mournfang brown in areas I wanted rusty. Then I mixed up some turquoise as I don't have any, thinned it quite heavily and did some verdigris type stuff.

The red I used a crimson colour, washed it with thrakka green wash and highlighted it with various layers of red/orange mix.

It begins...

My Vampire Counts battalion arrived today. I waited till midnight then headed to a nearby cemetery and began assembling them. It took a long time as moonlight is no substitute for a lamp. So I only got a one unit done and some characters. I made a Wight King BSB out of some choice skeleton bits and the fancy banner in my Von Carstein shield pack. Having played only 1 game with VC I am not sure if a BSB is worth taking but I have one now and I turned a 5 point skeleton into a 100 point character so I don't care. Here is a photograph of what I've put together so far.
